CSUF Baseball Mike Lorenzon at CHS- 11/4/11

Friday the students at Canyon High had Cal State Fullerton's baseball Mike Lorenzon came to speak to all their peers there at CHS. It was a great influence has Mike spent time sharing his struggles of peer pressure, alcohol, and drugs in high school. He explained how he gave his life to Christ as a Junior in HS and all that changed along with the life that he now lives because of that choice. He did a wonderful job explaining the reality of what these kids are going through and his experience of what he went through. In the end Mike gave the kids a chance to take their life to and walk with Christ. The parent CHS really did a great job supporting the students with Pizza and deserts for over 130 students- all free. Please be in prayer for the students of FCA at CHS.

2011 First Huddle 10/21

It was a pretty impressive turn out for Canyon's first FCA event of the year. It was structured the same as the others around North OC. They spent time with a "Get to Know" where students went around and found other students they did not know and asked them some questions. Mrs Koch is one of the parent's from the "Parent Team" and she helped with the Pizza provided by FCA and other goodies for the day. The motto for the year is depth and quality. Our hope and prayer is that students and FCA evolves into something with great depth and quality in the 2011 school year. Where students are catching fire with the Lord to see God move in a powerful way in their life and on their campus.

Youth Pastor- Ja Hewitt Speaks- 12/3

Parents,

A key part of FCA is to be a bridge to the local Church. The kids understand that FCA can only be a small part of us changing lives and impacting a campus. So this week, the students had youth pastor Ja Hewitt come and share with the group. He shared insight into the truth and importance of being within a body or community that is encouraging, fills, and leads you to the person God desires you to become.

A continued thank you to all who are apart of supporting these kids in prayer and giving of your time and resources.
Will you please pray that God will move in and through FCA to impact each child and these campus.

Leadership Meeting- 11/19

Parent,

Friday was our leadership meeting where the leaders of FCA meet to plan their next event. During this time the leaders fellowship and plan. Also, each week a student or guest leads a "Heart Inventory" for the leaders.
This week I lead and shared with them from Phillippans chapter 5. Explaining to them how Paul had positioned himself to take no confidence in the flesh, that through the spirit he "forgets what is behind and strains forward to what is ahead, to press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God calls us heavenward in Christ Jesus. That all who are mature should take this view point."

Please continue to pray for this group on campus that God will move in the kids and through the kids. We need your prayers.
In Him,
Brad
